Work From Home
I met her when I picked up my partner from the airport. We decided to shop a few items from Duty Free before proceeding home. She is the sister of my partner’s colleague. Since she used to be a call center agent, we got talk so easily. During the course of our conversation, she mentioned that she is currently preparing for her marriage and just quit her home based call center job.
Huh? “Your home based call center job?
How did I miss that?
I thought it was a scam. But it was true. There is such a legitimate home based call center job. How did I know? I actually worked for that company after that conversation. They don’t have an office here. It is US based and you get to be interviewed thru skype. When I got the job, they downloaded a software on my computer over the Internet. That software is where I logged in and out each day, and where I get to view customer’s details when they or I call them. It’s an inbound and outbound program for a salary lending company. All the staff, including my boss, are also logged in on a chatroom while working for any help or support needed. I get to receive my salary thru Unionbank cyber account.
You would think it’s the kind of job you would want especially if you have a family to look after to. A home based call center job requires no transportation expenses, no time wasted commuting to and from work, no dress codes, and most of all, no boss around, no politics and minimal policies are enforced. Your boss is just a face on facebook and a chatmate.
Home based call center job did not work for me.
I quit after 4 months.
I got so bored. Imagine working alone at night for eight hours.
I miss the life outside. The traffic, the noise, and the challenges that comes with office-bound job.
